Our Story

Thanks for checking out our page!  My name is Steve Marciniak, Chief Smoke Officer at Bar-R-Que.  I built this business with a simple recipe: make great food for great people…so you don’t have to. What started as a hobby, turned passion quicker than I could wrap my first brisket.  10 years later, we’re proud to say that we’re spreading that same passion from our smokers to your plates.

Back to that “great food” part. We’re confident in this mission as we buy meats that are professionally sourced, packaged and sold.  Whether we’re catering your party or popping up at your street festival, we ensure our food is cooked with the high standards we all deserve. 

Aside from our name, Bar-R-Que is different. We don’t want to be the biggest in what we do.  We want to be best in what we do and have fun doing it.  As I tell my kids, EJ and RQ (R-Que, get it?), practice makes perfect.  That’s why we’ve spent hours/days/years(!) shooting these free throws. So that we can be the best in what we do.

Sure, we like making BBQ because simply, it’s delicious. That’s the easy part. But we love making BBQ as its true beauty lies behind the scenes.  It’s the late nights that bleed into early mornings.  It’s hitting that perfect barrel temperature and letting it ride for hours on end.  It’s that thin blue smoke that’ll give you whiplash from the double takes. Shoot, here we are getting all romantic on you!
